II Old Frame League Madrid – Day 2

With a little less delay than the last time, we are giving you coverage of the Day 2 of the II Old Frame League Madrid, which took place on March 11th, 2023 at Tempest Store, C. de Timoteo Domingo 17, Madrid.

Eleven participants gathered to battle it out in the Old Frame Vintage format, the highest player count ever, and the second time in a row we reached the 10 player mark! There was also quite a variety of decks, ranging from Drain Tendrils to Angry Hermit, and a surprising absence of The Perfect Storm.

Everyone was playing to be the second person to get a custom MTG Old Frame League winner playmat. The composition continues with many more staple artworks on show.

Day 2 of the II Old Frame League Madrid

It was a fierce competition, but a player came of top of the rest with an impressive 4-0 finish in his first ever Old Frame Vintage appearance. Rodrigo Togores, winner of Grand Prix Prague 2016 and Grand Prix Madrid 2017.

The last round of the day saw Rodrigo‘s Drain Tendrils beat Alfonso Utrilla‘s Sligh in a match that, as usual, was streamed live in the tournament’s Youtube Channel. You can check it here.

Despite Utrilla‘s valiant effort, Togores ultimately prevailed, securing his place at the top of the leaderboard.

It was great to see a two time Grand Prix winner joining our format, but even greater to see that the amount of players keeps on increasing. Soon we may have even bigger things coming up live.
