Deck Construction Rules

Cards per deck: At least 60 plus a 15 cards sideboard.
Allowed sets: There are 8 possible variations, which could be considered as 8 different formats:
- First Type 2: Fourth Edition, Chronicles, Fallen Empires, Ice Age, Homelands and Alliances.
- Second Type 2: Fifth Edition, Ice Age, Homelands, Alliances, Mirage, Visions, Weatherlight.
- Third Type 2: Fifth Edition, Mirage, Visions, Weatherlight, Tempest, Stronghold, Exodus.
- Fourth Type 2: Sixth Edition, Tempest, Stronghold, Exodus, Urza’s Saga, Urza’s Legacy, Urza’s Destiny.
- Fifth Type 2: Sixth Edition, Urza’s Saga, Urza’s Legacy, Urza’s Destiny, Mercadian Masques, Nemesis, Prophecy.
- Sixth Type 2: Seventh Edition, Mercadian Masques, Nemesis, Prophecy, Invasion, Planeshift, Apocalypse.
- Seventh Type 2: Seventh Edition, Invasion, Planeshift, Apocalypse, Odyssey, Torment, Judgment.
- Eighth Type 2: Seventh Edition, Odyssey, Torment, Judgment, Onslaught, Legions, Scourge.
Reprint rules: All standard-sized reprints are allowed, including non-Tournament legal: Collectors’ Edition, International Collectors’ Edition, gold-bordered World Championship and Pro Tour cards, and Magic 30th Anniversary cards.

Contemporary rules and errata are followed, except for Mana Burn, which is still in effect.

Banned: Amulet of Quoz, Balance, Black Vise, Bronze Tablet, Channel, Dream Halls, Earthcraft, Fluctuator, Hymn to Tourach, Ivory Tower, Jeweled Bird, Land Tax, Lotus Petal, Memory Jar, Mind Over Matter, Mind Twist, Phyrexian Dreadnought, Rebirth, Recurring Nightmare, Strip Mine, Tempest Efreet, Time Spiral, Timmerian Fiends, Tolarian Academy, Windfall, Zuran Orb.
Restricted: No cards are restricted.
